Horrible things were a staple of my youth. A beaten mother, an abused life, and the loss of a pet in a brutal way were only the beginning.

The Devil doesn’t always show up with horns, a pointed tail, and carrying a pitchfork. Sometimes he’s walks in with a smile, a compliment, and a party to go to.

And sometimes the Devil even has a human name.

This one’s name was Dale.

The path for my destructive childhood started with my Mom’s horrible upbringing. The abuse, neglect, sexual assault, and medical malpractice she experienced laid the groundwork for the torment I would face growing up.
